Thiomoon L8

Composition:

  • Lornoxicam IP 8 mg

  • Thiocolchicoside IP 4 mg
    Therapeutic Class:

  • NSAID + Muscle Relaxant Combination
    Schedule: Schedule H (Prescription Only)

Thiomoon L8 is a dual-action formulation combining Lornoxicam, a potent NSAID with anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, and Thiocolchicoside, a centrally acting muscle relaxant. This combination is highly effective in managing pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders, especially where inflammation and muscle spasm coexist.

Usage of Thiomoon L8

Indicated for the treatment of:

  • Acute low back pain and cervical pain

  • Lumbar and cervical spondylitis

  • Muscle spasms due to trauma or strain

  • Post-operative pain with spasm

  • Rheumatoid arthritis with muscle stiffness

  • Sciatica and radiculopathy

Mechanism of Action

Lornoxicam:

  • A non-selective COX inhibitor that reduces synthesis of prostaglandins, providing rapid anti-inflammatory and analgesic action

  • Offers short onset and strong pain relief with less GI risk than traditional NSAIDs

Thiocolchicoside:

  • A GABA-A receptor agonist that exerts muscle relaxant and mild anti-inflammatory effects

  • Acts at the spinal cord level to reduce reflex muscle contraction and improve mobility

Synergistic Action:

  • Controls inflammatory pain and relieves muscle stiffness

  • Enhances functional recovery and improves patient compliance

Key Benefits

Comprehensive relief from pain and spasm
Faster onset compared to many NSAID combinations
✅ Improves range of motion and physical function
Non-sedating muscle relaxant – suitable for daytime use
✅ Lower GI risk with shorter NSAID half-life (Lornoxicam)
