Flupikem T4

Composition:

  • Flupirtine Maleate 100 mg

  • Thiocolchicoside IP 4 mg
    Therapeutic Class:

  • Centrally Acting Analgesic & Muscle Relaxant Combination
    Schedule: Schedule H (Prescription Only)

Flupikem T4 is a combination of Flupirtine, a centrally acting non-opioid analgesic, and Thiocolchicoside, a muscle relaxant with anti-inflammatory properties. This formulation provides dual action relief by targeting both neuropathic pain and muscular spasms, making it suitable for acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.

Usage of Flupikem T4

Indicated in the management of:

  • Acute and chronic low back pain

  • Cervical and lumbar spondylosis

  • Muscle spasms associated with orthopedic trauma

  • Fibromyalgia and myofascial pain

  • Post-surgical musculoskeletal pain

  • Pain with underlying neural or spastic component

Mechanism of Action

Flupirtine:

  • Acts as a selective neuronal potassium channel opener (SNEPCO)

  • Exhibits analgesic and muscle-relaxing properties via NMDA receptor modulation

  • No sedation or respiratory depression like opioids

Thiocolchicoside:

  • A GABA-A receptor agonist that provides muscle relaxation

  • Reduces inflammatory pain and muscle contractures

  • Acts both centrally and at the spinal level

Together, the combination:

  • Reduces neurogenic pain and muscle hyperactivity

  • Improves mobility, comfort, and recovery

Key Benefits

Dual action on pain and muscle spasm
✅ Effective in both neuropathic and nociceptive pain
Non-opioid and non-NSAID – minimal GI or renal side effects
✅ Improves range of motion and physical function
✅ Better patient compliance due to central analgesia without sedation

Common Side Effects

  • Drowsiness

  • Dizziness

  • Nausea
